Stop Torturing innocents: Human Rights Activists

Thiruvananthapuram: Human rights activists condemned police atrocities against Muslims in the name of investigation into the assault on college teacher. They demanded to stop unwarranted statewide raids in the offices of Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and houses of its activists. There are reports of illegal custodies and custodial tortures. And police are also giving false reports to the media about the seized materials during raids as if the CDs and booklets were having anti national features.
The duty of the police is to find out real culprits behind the attack and produce them before the law. The law enforcers should not become law breakers. There was more serious crimes in the state in the past committed by various groups like CPM and RSS including murder. But there were no police activities of this kind then. This kind of discrimination will cause unrest and insecurity in the society, opined statement by human rights activists.
