Book on Ayodhya verdict released at national level
The release of the book titled “When Injustice Comes Home to Hatch” on the anniversary of Babari Verdict.
On the first anniversary of the Babri Masjid Supreme Court verdict, the NCHRO (National Confederation of Human Rights organizations) organized a book release titled “When Injustice Comes Home to Hatch” edited by N P Checkutty, senior journalist. Various Chapters of the organization released the above book on 8th and 9th November 2020 in a small gathering and via webinar attended by hundreds in order to comply with the Covid-19 protocol. In this webinar, the social and political implications of the verdict and its main points were laid out in the form of a book that contains the collection of news and articles reported by social scientists, eminent lawyers and veteran journalists in the media. This book was launched on the eve of the anniversary of the verdict. WebinarS as well as small gatherings assembled in this nationwide programme.
NCHRO Delhi Chapter
While speaking in the Delhi Chapter webinar, human rights activist and Gandhian Himanshu Kumar said that the right wing is diverting the fundamental questions of this country and is creating an atmosphere of hatred. These people have weakened the country’s communal harmony and have encouraged hatred among the people. Dalit thinker and writer Anil Chamadia, while speaking in the seminar, said that the country’s ruling class has kept alive the issue of Babri Masjid; he appreciated the book released in the webinar and said that had the book also been released in Hindi, a lot more people would be able to understand the way the Supreme Court has ignored the evidence and given its verdict based on religion. While Advocate Amit Srivastav said that the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court has misused the right granted to them under section 142. He said that today in the country, as a whole edifice has been installed against the fundamental questions that we are faced with. Today, there is unemployment, starvation, inequality and poverty – but the fascist ideology is sidelining these issues and is creating an environment of hatred. We all have to stop it wholeheartedly. While speaking about the book, he said that it is a good attempt at informing the citizens of the country about the Supreme Court’s changing direction in terms of its functioning. Ranjan Solomon NCHRO Goa Chapter President, while speaking in the programme, narrated a story from his childhood about the rumour-mongering and fear-mongering that is prevalent in the country even today among the people against their fellow Muslim citizens. He also cited the ways in which the Supreme Court’s stance on the issue has changed over the years for the worse and raised alarms about the state of affairs in the country today.
NCHRO Tamilnadu Chapter
Tamilnadu Chapter programme presided by Prof A Marx Chairperson NCHRO, Former High court judge Honorable Hariparandhaman(Retrd) was the special invitee and keynote speaker of the programme. Also National Exco member and senior lawyer Adv Bhavani Mohan and another National Exco member K Sugumaran attended the webinar.
NCHRO Kerala Chapter
In kerala, there were two programmes held. In Calicut the editor and veteran Journalist NP Chekkuty released the book at Calicut and made a brief of the book content and its relevance for readers in our country. National Secretary Reny Ayalin and Adv Sharafudheen National Coordinator attended the event.
Thrichur-Kerala book released by Joly Chirayath-filim Actress, Adv. V R, Anoop Activist, received the copy of the book. A M Shanavas, Secretary NCHRO, Kerala Chapter moderate the event.
NCHRO Karnataka Chapter
In Karnataka Chapter President Adv Balan Presided the event, National Exco member Prof Ramesh and Paravateesha Bilidale, President , Naave Karanataka was the special invitee of the zoom meeting to release the book titled “When Injustice comes Home to Hatch” and Abdul Raheem S moderate the zoom meeting held on today. This book launching has widely circulated via social media and associated communication structure.
